I had to run to work to grab a few things to get bonus done and the Dr. came in while I was gone to visit with Pamela. Out of the many things that can be done the one that Dr. Johnson wants to start with is going in and removing some of the fluid from the right lung area of our daughter. It is his judgment that that has less risks involved than drawing blood through the umbilical cord or doing a transfusion through the umbilical cord. Those things may become necessary but he wants to take some baby steps now to try to start helping her. This will be done starting at approximately 6:00 this evening.
Pamela will be sedated so that the baby will be still and this will be done in the OR so that an emergency c-section can be done if the need arises. This decision was made with the assistance of feedback from staff at St. Luke's as well as Dr. Johnson's colleagues around the globe and we are thankful for each of them.
Thanks for your ongoing prayers. I will try to update again sometime this evening after the procedure and time allows.
